Jan Matejko

Jan Alojzy Matejko was a distinguished Polish painter, widely recognized for his historical paintings that powerfully illustrate pivotal episodes from Poland’s past. Born in Kraków in 1838, Matejko emerged as one of the leading artistic personalities of 19th-century Poland.
